The wait of the students of Atmiya Vidya Mandir finally ended on 29th September '12, when Param Pujya Hariprasad Swamiji blessed us with His divine presence. The joy of the students could be compared to that of a farmer that has experience first showers of rain after a rough season!
The event was hosted by Tarun Sir. All the members of Atmiya Pariwar were present in the Atmiya Prarthana Mandir. The programme started with poojan of Thakorji, followed by bhajan sung by Somnath Sir, Jaimin Sir and group. Tarun Sir then described about the various happenings in the school like creative assemblies, sports competition and other events to Swamiji. One such event was the Teachers' Day celebration during which a dance was performed by over 250 students, choreographed by Suhradam Sir; the same performance was dedicated to Swamiji, our greatest teacher. Then students from various classes were called up on the stage to garland him. After this, on behalf of students, Karanbhai, Utsavbhai from 12th Commerce and Denishbhai and Romalbhai from 12th Science offered prayers to Swamiji.
Then it was time for the most awaited part of the event i.e. Swamiji's pravachan. He gave us some very important instructions like: "Teacher nu mathu khavu", "Roj nu devu roj chukvi devu", "Thobdu nahi chadavvu". He also talked of great scientists like the Wright Brothers and Einstein and explained that none of their works were complete without prayers. He quoted examples from the lives of great leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Swami Vivekanand. The students also in turn promised to follow his aagnas and get minimum 70%. In Swamiji's words, they promised to be સિંહ and not બકરી.
This visit of Swamiji brought serenity and peace to all. The hustle-bustle and stress of the exams that had just finished were shattered at once, such was the effect of Swamiji's visit to Atmiya Vidya Mandir.
