Students Response:

As the competition motto was “Learn, enjoy and be competitive”, students were very much eager to understand the latest rules of Basketball. They were enjoying the matches as well as learning the rules, they were seen discussing the tactics and strategies used by various teams.

Academic teaching Staff:

Normally sports time is the time during which the academic teachers get a breather and can relax. But such was the excitement regarding the competition that most of the teachers felt compelled to be on the court and cheer up for the students and see the new side of the students which they do not get to see during the class room hours.

We are happy to mention some teachers name who were almost present everyday during the tournament. They are Prabhudarshan Sir, Suvasin Madam, Sharmil Madam, Binu Madam, Rekha Madam, Tarun Sir and Amrapali Madam, Sarvajeet Sir, Rakesh Sir to name a few.

The highlight of the competition came when Principal sir Respected Vijay Patel came on the court to enjoy the basketball fever at the school. Being a vivid sports enthusiast himself he could not help but show his appreciation to a fantastic show put on by the students from various age groups.

Sports Team:

At Atmiya Vidya Mandir we are blessed with a young and enthusiastic sports team. Not only they are good at teaching skills to the students but given a chance they can show what they can do with their own skills. Half time during the matches became a spectacle for the students as the sports teachers show their skills by practicing two point, three point and half court throws. Not only that the competition was concluded with sports team enjoying a friendly match with the 12th standard students.

Hostel Staff:

From hostel staff, all house Masters and Didis showed their presence in some matches. Sugna Didi is always present all the competition throughout the year. Tejas Sir, Himanshu Sir, Vijay Bhai, Pranav Sir, Pankaj Sir showed valuable presence on basketball court.

Rita aunty came daily to encourage the students.

Scoring:

Devang Sir and Amrapali Madam did their job of scoring fairly with full dedication.

Refereeing:

Bankim Sir and Ishwar Sir were referees for Learner group and sub junior group matches. Ritesh Sir and Yogesh Sir were for Junior and Senior group matches. All the referees were performed their jobs very sincerely and were very consistent with their calls.

If the aim of a sports competition was to create awareness, enthusiasm about the sports, then Basketball competition certainly did that. More importantly, during the course of the competition so many of the students gained confidence to showcase their skills in front of whole school. So many students get inspired to do well in whatever they are good at or want to become good at.
