Bhulo bhale biju badhu maa baap ne bhulso nahi

Bhulo bhale biju badhu maa baap ne bhulso nahi;
aganit che upkaar ena, eh visarso nahi.

Remembering the immeasurable love and countless deeds that the parents do for their children teachers and students at Atmiya Vidya Mandir were soaked with the glimpses and sweet memories of parents. Throughout the week children presented different aspects of love and sacrifice that the parents make for their children. This was not merely in speeches but the children could relate it with their life and cherished it as if it was their own.

On Saturday, the children presented a wonderful drama as dedication to their parents, “Bhulo bhale biju badhu maa baap ne bhulso nahi”. In this drama it was portrayed how a young, 21st century successful teenager treats his aged father. He has become busy with his personal life and is blinded by the materialistic world and pleasure. He disrespects him and ignores him. So absorbed was he in his world that he disrespects his father harshly. The father then feels that he is a hindrance in his son’s progress and finally decides to join the old age home, away from his house. He leaves his son with a last message recorded in the cassette. When the son listens to the cassette the next day he repents his mistake and sobs with remorse. The story definitely has a happy ending. To find out what was the message in the cassette and how the story ends please watch the assembly here.
The main characters of the drama were:

At last there is feeling that everyone strongly has i.e. to do something in return for our parents. But no words, no deeds, no gifts, no services can tantamount to their love and sacrifice in our life. We can only thank God for giving us such wonderful parents.

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through, through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

I'm everything I am Because you loved me

Swamiji Blesses AVM!

The wait of the students of Atmiya Vidya Mandir finally ended on 29th September '12, when Param Pujya Hariprasad Swamiji blessed us with His divine presence. The joy of the students could be compared to that of a farmer that has experience first showers of rain after a rough season!

The event was hosted by Tarun Sir. All the members of Atmiya Pariwar were present in the Atmiya Prarthana Mandir. The programme started with poojan of Thakorji, followed by bhajan sung by Somnath Sir, Jaimin Sir and group. Tarun Sir then described about the various happenings in the school like creative assemblies, sports competition and other events to Swamiji. One such event was the Teachers' Day celebration during which a dance was performed by over 250 students, choreographed by Suhradam Sir; the same performance was dedicated to Swamiji, our greatest teacher. Then students from various classes were called up on the stage to garland him. After this, on behalf of students, Karanbhai, Utsavbhai from 12th Commerce and Denishbhai and Romalbhai from 12th Science offered prayers to Swamiji.

Then it was time for the most awaited part of the event i.e. Swamiji's pravachan. He gave us some very important instructions like: "Teacher nu mathu khavu", "Roj nu devu roj chukvi devu", "Thobdu nahi chadavvu". He also talked of great scientists like the Wright Brothers and Einstein and explained that none of their works were complete without prayers. He quoted examples from the lives of great leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Swami Vivekanand. The students also in turn promised to follow his aagnas and get minimum 70%. In Swamiji's words, they promised to be સિંહ and not બકરી.

This visit of Swamiji brought serenity and peace to all. The hustle-bustle and stress of the exams that had just finished were shattered at once, such was the effect of Swamiji's visit to Atmiya Vidya Mandir.

Jaljilani Ekadashi Utsav - 2012

Atmiya Vidya Mandir celebrated the spiritual festival of Jaljilani Ekadashi on 26th September, 2012. The celebration was in order to appreciate and acknowledge the blessings of God which makes the basis of our very survival. The swimming pool filled with fresh new water was made ready to rejoice the festival.

The festival was initiated with Har Vidhi. Garland was offered to Thakorji and the saints Pujya Prabodh Swamiji and Pujya Suhrad Swamiji were presented with bouquets. Students and staff members were blessed with the opportunity to take Thakorji on Nauka Vihar.

Aarti and Updesh ornamented the program. The Aarti was performed whole heartedly by all the students and staff members. P. Arjun Mama explained the importance of the day, emergence of the festival and the scriptural meaning of celebration. Under the resilient positive influence of spiritual environment, students not only enjoyed the experience but also learnt to escalate love and devotion towards God.

During Nauka Vihar, the boat was decorated and designed with the symbolic Swan, praying for the ultimate happiness of life “Atmiyata”. Thakorji was then taken on Vihar by the students in turn with their respective groups. Festival also encouraged students to participate together with unity and uniformity, which was prominently seen during Nauka Vihar.

Concluding the celebration, Prasad was offered to all the enthusiasts. Having an utmost importance in the Hindu philosophy, Prasad, is also a tool to remember the lessons of life with the sweet memories. Hence, children learnt the life-skills and gained the memories to be cherished forever.

Throughout the celebration, students were actively involved in the process. Quest to know more and eager to learn new happenings at school was prominently seen on the faces of students. Active involvement by every member made this carnival one of the pleasant memories of life.
